About speakers company
At Loft Labs, we build the tools that make Kubernetes simpler, more efficient, and cost-effective. Our open-source projects - vCluster, DevPod, and JSPolicy - enable platform engineers to streamline multi-tenancy, reduce cloud costs, and scale their Kubernetes environments with ease. With over 100 enterprises using our solutions, we’re focused on helping teams move faster, save money, and maintain stability in their platform stacks. Whether you’re managing multi-tenant clusters or optimizing resource usage, Loft Labs provides the building blocks to make it happen.
Enterprises aim to deliver business value while keeping their uptime high and costs low. With the ever-evolving landscape of enterprise technology, that’s an ongoing challenge.
Container orchestrators like Kubernetes have positioned themselves as a defacto way to deploy applications inside organisations, but it comes with additional complexity and cost. The shift towards embracing multitenancy emerges as a transformative strategy for enterprises looking to navigate the complexities of modern IT environments.
Join me in this talk and understand the paradigm shift that enables multiple users or tenants to share a single instance of a cluster while maintaining data isolation, cost and security policies with the help of an opensource tool like vCluster.
By the end, you will learn to save costs and enhance your developer experience with a multitenant architecture.
Multitenancy is the ability to share a cluster between multiple tenants, which is an exciting concept. It involves starting with a single cluster and then allowing multiple teams to share it. This approach can be particularly useful for enterprises that want to optimize their resource utilization and reduce operational costs as well as complexity while increasing agility and collaboration. However, security and isolation can still be challenging issues that need to be addressed.
Virtual clusters allow platform teams to provision shared clusters that are truly self-service for engineers. This talk focuses on all the aspects that you need to know about Multitenancy before successful adoption. Starting from the basics, this talk ends on how solutions like vCluster (https://github.com/loft-sh/vcluster/) can help your multitenancy strategy.
